Kids love a holiday, and what better place to treat them to a getaway than the stunning Sunshine Coast? This beautiful spot of paradise is full of wonderful activities sure to please even the most discerning youngster.

As well as making the most of the pristine beaches, subtropical climate and freshwater rivers, here are some other great ways to keep the kids happy during your holiday.

Australia Zoo

Come rain or shine, the kids are sure to get a thrill from hand-feeding a kangaroo, seeing a Sumatran tiger in the flesh or cuddling a koala – and all of these activities are possible at Australia Zoo.

Conservationists at this popular wildlife park endeavour to continue the legacy left by the late Steve Irwin, more commonly known as the Crocodile Hunter.

If you plan on bringing the kids here, it might be worth your while to plan your itinerary before leaving your accommodation as there are a number of different shows you may want to include during your day. Plus, you need to fit time in to visit all the kids’ favourite animals, whether that be visiting the Crocoseum, Roo heaven,  the Tiger Temple or something else!

Organising the car rental Sunshine Coast Airport tourists rely on will mean the kids are able to enjoy a gorgeous view on the way to this location. The trip should only take roughly half an hour from the Sunshine Coast CBD and along the way you can enjoy views of the Mooloolah River National Park and Beerwah State Forest.

Underwater World

If your children would rather look at marine life, this attraction might be a better way to keep them occupied during their time in the Sunshine Coast.

There are plenty of amazing animal experiences up for grabs in this location, such as the unique seal experience, which allows visitors to get up close and personal to these animals.

You and your children can really get behind the scenes to learn how seals and their trainers prepare for daily seal shows and find out what it takes to care for these unique animals.

Choose from a seal swim, seal encounter or even become a seal trainer for the day – the choice is yours!

Kids seeking more adventure may want to experience the thrill of a shark dive. This allows you to come face-to-face with not only sharks but stingrays and hundreds of other fish.

Scuba training is provided and there is no experience required for this adventure which is sure to be a highlight of your little one’s trip to the beautiful Sunshine Coast!

Aussie World

One of Australia’s most popular theme parks is located in the Sunshine Coast, and Aussie World has much to offer guests of all ages.

Whether you are after thrills and spills or somewhere to spend a memorable afternoon, Aussie World is just the place!

Located on the Bruce Highway, you won’t need to travel far to experience the excitement of a roller coaster, thrill of a simulator or enjoy a famous foot-long hotdog at the Aussie World cafe. There are more relaxing rides, such as the Carousel and Ferris wheel for those who want a more gentle experience, as well as the famous thrill rides such as the Octopus and Plunge for more daring family members.

The plunge is the Sunshine Coast’s only water ride, although if you want more of a splash there is now a water play area where you can enjoy log flume rides, giant slides and Dodgems.

All up, there are over 30 wonderful rides to choose from and the park promises shorter queues so you can spend more time having fun than waiting around – perfect for impatient kids!
