If you’re thinking about grabbing a car rental Sydney International Airport or Domestic Airport, and having a New South Wales adventure in the near future, you might want to make your travel plans for October.

That’s because Prince Harry is going to be in Sydney next month to take part in the Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN) ‘International Fleet Review’.

NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell said in a September 24 statement that he is “delighted Prince Harry will now be part of the celebrations”.

You can, too, if you organise a rental car at the Sydney airport and drive over to Sydney Harbour on Saturday, October 5.

The ‘International Fleet Review’ is being held “to commemorate the centenary of the first entry of the RAN’s Fleet into Sydney Harbour”, explained Mr O’Farrell.

Approximately 40 warships from all over the world are expected to sail up for the celebration, which promises to be one of the biggest Sydney has ever staged.

A variety of exciting events will be taking place between October 3 and 11, so make sure you don’t miss out!

We’re particularly looking forward to the magnificent ‘Fireworks and Lightshow Spectacular’ that will be lighting up the night sky over Sydney Harbour and the Sydney Opera House on October 5.

This will last for a total of 30 minutes, and is being put together by the RAN in conjunction with Imagination (Australia) Pty Ltd.

Fireworks will be launched from rooftops around the city, barges, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and even the decks of the RAN’s warships.

Then, visitors will be treated to a ‘Lightshow Spectacular,’ which will recount the RAN’s history. This will be accompanied by flyovers and a soundtrack developed by the RAN’s Director of Music.

You can see tall ships in Sydney Harbour from October 3, and warships from October 4.

And, of course, Prince Harry!
