For those who want food for thought as well as meals in their belly, the South Australia Living Artists Festival (SALA) is a must visit. Running throughout the entire month of August in the charming city of Adelaide, this festival is an excellent opportunity to engage with Aussie art and culture.
This year marks the 18th time this festival has been held. A staggering 610 exhibitions and events have been organised throughout the month, showcasing the work of 5,205 artists, as noted by the event's official website.
You even get to meet artists face to face during the Open Studio weekend, hosted over August 8-9. Make the most of this time to have those deep, meaningful conversations that linger in your memories for a lifetime.
Another key date to mark in your calendar for the SALA festival is Sunday, August 16. On this date, the SALA Gala in the Garden event will be held, with live artist demonstrations and children's painting workshops. See these creative geniuses create masterpieces right before your eyes, especially as you sip on wine and munch on local produce on sale at the outdoor event.
