You can hire a car from East Coast Car Rentals at numerous locations around Australia. Our 14 locations include major airports and city locations spanning Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Northern Territory, Western Australia, and even across the ditch in Tasmania.

The airport shuttle service works by picking you up at the terminal and taking you to our nearby depot free of charge. Upon arrival at the airport and once you’ve collected your luggage, you’ll simply call the corresponding number for your location to inform the team of your arrival and you’ll be promptly picked up.

Yes, we offer one-way car hire where you can hire a car in one location and return it to another. This includes interstate travel, meaning you could hire a car in Queensland and return it to New South Wales. The only state you cannot travel to from another state is Tasmania. One-way rentals are subject to availability and a service fee applies.

At East Coast Car Rentals we pride ourselves on being transparent when it comes to our fees and charges, however, there are instances where additional fees may incur on top of your hiring fee. Some extras to consider are booster seats which can be hired from us for an additional fee.

Insurance is another optional add-on, and if roadside assistance is required during your journey, this will also incur an additional fee.

You will also be charged directly to your credit card for any toll roads you travel on during your journey, and if any infringement occurs such as a speeding fine or parking ticket, these will also be charged to you.

To hire a car in Australia at East Coast Car Rentals you must be at least 21 years of age. An underage driver surcharge will apply to those drivers aged between 21 to 24 years old. You will need to provide a valid, current driver licence when collecting your car.

International drivers will need to bring a copy of their national driver licence written in the Roman Alphabet (e.g. A, B, C etc.). If your national driver licence is not written in the Roman Alphabet, you will also need to provide an International Driving Permit [IDP] as supporting documentation. Drivers from China will need to bring their national driver licence and an IDP. Chinese drivers may use a China National Certificate instead of an IDP.

• Extra charges apply if you select additional options, and if you do not return the vehicle to the same pick-up location or return the vehicle late, or if you do not return the vehicle full of fuel, or if you incur infringements or use toll roads.
• We recommend choosing one of the cover waiver products during the booking process to reduce your DLF in the event of an accident.
• If there is Damage, theft of the Vehicle or Third-Party Loss you must also pay up to the standard Damage Liability Fee (DLF). Optional Damage Cover Products may be purchased to reduce your liability, but there may be no cover under some circumstances where your Rental Terms and conditions are breached by you.  
• Cancelling the booking 7 or more days prior to the collection date of the vehicle will result in a full refund of the purchase price and any credit card surcharges.
• When cancelling less than 7 days prior to the collection date, the cancellation fee will be equal to the sum of three (3) rental days as per the rental fee of the booking, and, if the notice provided is less. than three (3) days, the full rental purchase price will be retained by East Coast Car Rentals
• No refund will be provided on any portion of the purchase price if the Customer fails to pick up the vehicle at the day and time of collection.
• No refund will be provided for ‘early returns’ or ‘unused days’ when returning the vehicle earlier than the booked dates and times. Any unused portion of the Optional Extras purchased at the time of collection will be refunded to the Customer.
