Promotion Period

The promotion starts at 12:01am (AEST) on 1 August 2025 and ends at 11:59pm (AEST) on Sept 30 2025

Eligibility

Entry is open to residents of Australia who:

  • Are aged 18 years or over at the time of entry;
  • Are current or active musical performers (solo or group acts, including buskers);
  • Submit an original entry via the competition landing page during the Promotion Period.

Minors & Guardians clause

  • Entrants under 18 must obtain parental or legal guardian consent before entry. The Promoter may request proof of consent. Any prize awarded to a minor may instead be awarded to their consenting parent or guardian.

Who can’t enter

Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter, associated agencies and companies, and anyone professionally connected to the competition are ineligible to enter.

How to Enter

To enter, eligible participants must, during the Promotion Period:

  • Complete the entry form at https://tinyurl.com/47w7pcxv;
  • Link a video showcasing a live musical performance;
  • Provide a short written response (150 words max) outlining why they should be selected.

Only one (1) entry per act is permitted.

Judging Criteria and Winner Selection

This is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winners. All valid entries will be reviewed and judged by a panel selected by the Promoter. Entries will be judged based on:

  • Musical talent and originality;
  • Creative potential;
  • Stage presence or energy;
  • Alignment with the goals of the “I’m With the Band” campaign.

Following the initial judging process, the top eight entrants will be selected by the judging panel. 

These top eight artists will:

  • Be professionally recorded and/or filmed performing in a location and format arranged by the Promoter; and
  • Be featured across East Coast Car Rentals’ digital channels as part of the official I’m With the Band content series.

These top eight entries will then be judged by a panel of judges from various industries, where the winner and runners’ up will be selected.

Major Prize of $2,000 AUD cash.

Prize Details

  • Major Prize: AUD $2,000 for the winner, and $10,000 worth of PR work or the equivalent to 50 hours courtesy of Seven Communications.
  • Runners-Up Prizes: AUD $500 cash each for two (2) additional finalists, selected by the judging panel.
  • Selected Artist Prizes: AUD $500 East Coast Car Rentals voucher for the remaining top eight finalists to support campaign travel and participation.
  • The retail value of the Major Prize (AUD $12,000), Runner‑Up Prizes (AUD $500 each) and Travel Vouchers (AUD $500 each) is stated. Prizes will be awarded in order, and if a winner cannot be contacted within ten days a redraw will occur among remaining valid finalists.

Total prize pool value is up to AUD $15,500

Prizes are not exchangeable, transferable or redeemable for other goods or services, unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Promoter.

Winner Notification and Public Announcement

Winners will be notified via phone and/or email using the contact details provided at the time of entry by Oct 1, 2025.

Winners may also be announced publicly via East Coast Car Rentals’ social media pages and/or website.

Campaign Participation Requirements

Selected artists may be featured in a national content series and will be required to participate in promotional filming, travel, and performance activities coordinated by the Promoter.
Vehicle use is subject to standard ECCR rental terms and conditions, including but not limited to:

  • A valid, unrestricted driver’s licence;
  • Minimum age requirement for vehicle hire;
  • Compliance with road safety and insurance conditions.

Artists agree to be available for scheduled activities on 11 September 2025.

Entrant Verification 

  • The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of winners, including requesting identification and proof of residency. If this is not provided within 30 days, the prize may be forfeited and awarded to the next eligible entrant.”

Consumer Law Compliance

  • Nothing in these Terms limits any rights of entrants under the Australian Consumer Law. Entrants acknowledge they have not been misled or deceived in relation to the competition or the prizes offered.

Availability and Amendment of T&Cs

  • These Terms are available at the competition entry page. The Promoter may modify or vary these Terms to ensure compliance with any applicable laws or regulators; any amended Terms will be published equally prominently before any amendment takes effect.

Intellectual Property and Media Release

By entering, participants grant the Promoter a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, adapt and publish any content submitted (including photos, videos and music) in connection with the campaign and for future promotional purposes.

Participants agree to take part in reasonable publicity as required by the Promoter without further compensation.

Privacy

All personal information collected will be handled in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy available at Privacy Policy.

By entering, entrants consent to the Promoter using their personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this competition and for future marketing communications.

Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered or sustained as a result of this promotion or accepting any prize.

General

  • This is a game of skill
  • The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and disqualify any entrant found to have tampered with the entry process or submitted an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms.
  • If any prize is unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute it with a prize of equal or greater value.
  • If the promotion is not capable of running as planned for any reason beyond the Promoter’s control, the Promoter reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel the competition.
  • Any disputes will be handled in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
