During this unprecedented time we want to let you know that our primary focus is the health and safety of our Customers and Employees. We continue to monitor federal and state government updates on the COVID-19 situation regarding health, safety and travel restrictions, and make adjustments accordingly.
Like many service providers across Australia, we have had to implement changes to our way of doing business. Due to various travel restrictions we have reduced our operating hours and temporarily shut down some of our branches. Nonetheless, we want you to know we are committed to continuing to provide services to our Customers and have implemented flexible options to get you on the road as soon as possible. We are offering flexible collection and drop-off options outside of our current trading hours and at temporarily closed branches on a case-by-case basis.
Most importantly, we want you to know the enhanced cleaning and precautionary measures we have put in place, both for our vehicles and offices:
- Every high contact area in our offices, including counter surfaces and terminals, are cleaned with disinfectant every two hours
- Hand sanitiser dispensers are available for all Customers and Employees
- The interior of our Courtesy Shuttle Buses are disinfected at least three times a day
- All high contact areas and surfaces in the interior of our rental cars are cleaned thoroughly with disinfectant between every rental

Our Hygiene Policy In Response to Covid-19
As part of our response to the Covid-19 crisis, we have expanded our already rigorous cleaning protocols following guidance from leading Australian health authorities. While we have always had a very formal cleaning process in place, our employees are now being trained to implement new and more comprehensive procedures that include enhanced cleaning guidelines for vehicles, shuttles and branch locations.
Clean vehicles have always been important to us, but at this moment in time, we know vehicle cleanliness is even more critical.
Each of our vehicles is thoroughly cleaned, from the moment it is returned to us, taken to our wash facilities and returned in preparation for your next rental. This includes washing, vacuuming, and sanitizing with a disinfectant that meets Australian heath authority requirements.
Focus is given to the following key touchpoint areas:
- Steering wheel and steering column
- Seat belts and buckles
- Seats and pockets
- Dash (instrument panel) and vents
- Touchscreens (entertainment unit, GPS etc)
- Centre Console
- Door interiors including door handles, power window buttons and door pockets
- Glove box
- Gear stick/lever
- Boot, bonnet and petrol cap releases
We also have measures in place to immediately isolate and quarantine any vehicle if needed.
Social distancing guidelines as required by the Australian Government are enforced as passengers board, ride and depart from our shuttle buses. We are limiting the number of passengers on each bus and ensuring that passengers from different parties keep appropriate social distancing from other.
High-touch areas of our shuttles are cleaned and sanitized using a disinfectant between each trip. This includes door handles, safety rails, seats, seat belts and buckles. During this time, it may be necessary for customers to load and carry their own luggage to and from our courtesy bus.
Our cleaning standards also extend to our rental locations as well.
This includes regularly sanitizing touchpoint surfaces with disinfectant throughout the day. These include counter tops, phones, tablet devices, payment devices, door handles, among other high-touch areas. We also have introduced “sneeze guards” as an added safety measure.
How We Help Protect Our Employees
Our employees working at all rental locations are following best practices recommended by Australian health authorities. These practices include:
- Limiting the number of employees in a location
- Using social distancing
- Staying home if they are feeling ill
- Frequently washing hands
- Frequently sanitizing touchable surfaces with disinfectant
- Using disposable gloves and a disinfectant when cleaning vehicles
- Minimizing customer interaction at vehicle pickup or delivery
While we have limited trade at most of our rental locations, some staff must be available on site to service our valued customers and assist in the actual transfer of vehicles.
We are committed to providing a safe work environment during this challenging time and continue to monitor the situation and responding to advice provided by the Australian Government and health authorities.
In addition to our branch employees, we also have remote customer service staff working to answer your questions and help you arrange or change reservations.
How We Help Protect and Support Customers
To help protect both customers and employees, we have limited the number of customers inside our rental offices at any one point. We would encourage all customers to observe the social distancing guidelines as recommended by the Australian Government. Please follow the advice of our staff relating to these matters.
