Driving to Avalon Airport
For many years Avalon was only known as the privately owned training ground of Qantas pilots and host to the annual Australian International Air show. Since Jetstar started operating it as its commercial hub for their Victorian air travel, it has been widely accepted as the second entrance port to Melbourne, located just 55km to the west (approx 40 minute driving).
Once Jetstar had opened the new terminal, many of the national Car Rental companies opened onsite facilities, increasing the fleets in the local Geelong branch's.
