Sydney is always full of great treats to titillate your senses and until March 31 the city is home to a festival sure to tickle your taste buds.
The Sydney Living Museums food festival will take place at various locations in the city, and it would be well worth your while to organise the leading name in Sydney Airport car rentals and embark on a culinary adventure across the city.
You could enjoy a delicious harbourside Victorian High tea or why not take a few lessons from the best and enjoy a colonial cooking class?
There are plenty of events going on, including the ‘Stories from the cellar’ event at Elizabeth Bay House, which will take you on an adventure along the history of food preservation through Wildwon projects.
If you’ve ever wondered what people did before the fridge, this event is a must-do with stories about preserving, curing, smoking, pickling and salting on offer.
The kids are not going to miss out either, with some events targeted at the younger generation. So bundle them up in your car rental in Sydney and prepare for some fun.
On January 13 and 20 and Wednesdays 15 and 22 the kids can have a go at a class called ‘shape and bake’ at Elizabeth Farm. There they can try ginger biscuit making and then explore the garden, learning some fun and quaint old-fashioned games at the same time.
If that’s not really their cup of tea, they may get a kick out of having a convict’s breakfast. Head down to the Hyde Park Barracks Museum on January 15, 22, 24 or 28 so the kids can find out what it was really like to be awoken in a convict’s hammock!
There are plenty of other gastronomical events on offer throughout the next few months, so make sure you book ahead!
