What are some of your favourite places to grab a coffee or some lunch at in Melbourne?

We all know there isn’t a shortage of great cafes here in Melbourne, but when you’re renting with us you’ve got to stop in at Operator 25 Cafe. Operator 25 is just around the corner from our East Coast Car Rentals Melbourne car rental branch. The café used to be a telephone exchange, hence the name. The owners have done a great job to keep the theme alive along with great food and fantastic coffee. The perfect first stop to make on your journey.

If I am looking for lunch or dinner, I am heading to Thai Thani in the Docklands. By far the most authentic Thai Food I have had here in Melbourne. The Hawker styled kitchen and bar is famously known in the area for their delicious food, spot on service, and warm atmosphere.

For those of you that have been to Melbourne before you know how diverse this city really is. My next recommendation would be Pastuso Peruvian. Pastuso is a great place to enjoy dinner, their menu encompasses all aspects of Peru – from the coast, through the Andes, to the jungle every aspect of Peru is elegant showcases throughout Pastuso’s menu.

What is your favourite tourist thing to do on your day off?

On my day off I really enjoy walking along the Yarra River around Southbank on a nice day. Enjoy people watching, maybe relax at a floating bar to savour the view. It’s one of the best ways to take in the great city of Melbourne.

You have a three-day weekend coming up, where are you going, what are you doing?

If the weather is ideal, I am taking myself out to Wilsons Promontory. Some of the best hiking and scenery in the state. There are overnight hiking camps which I have been keen to do.

Someone has a day free before catching their flight from Melbourne, what should they do?

If you enjoy art and the weather is not great, check out Melbourne’s NGV in Southbank. A lot of free exhibitions as well as rotating paid exhibitions make this a must-see. If the weather is good, perhaps a rooftop bar for a drink and enjoy the view.

Melbourne Rooftop Bar is one of the most famous ones right in the heart of the CBD. If you want to see some locally made products, you could go to the Rose St Artist’s market in Fitzroy. You could also spot some unique street art and find plenty of specialty stores nearby along Brunswick St, Smith St, and Gertrude St.
