Animal lovers are spoilt for choice in Melbourne, with an assortment of zoos, farms and wildlife parks all waiting to be visited. So, why don't you visit them?

All you need to do is organise a car rental in Melbourne and prepare yourself for some unique animal attractions you'll never forget.

Melbourne Zoo

No trip to Melbourne would be complete without a visit to our famous Melbourne Zoo. Home to more than 300 different species, this is the perfect place to encounter those weird and wonderful creatures that you don't see every day!

The zoo's wide variety of native animals, including cuddly koalas and kangaroos, will be of particular interest to overseas visitors, while the award-winning Trail of Elephants experience gives guests the chance to get up-close-and-personal with five Asian elephants in their state-of-the-art enclosure.

Myuna Farm

Here you'll get the chance to meet goats, pigs, donkeys, red deer, cows, sheep and many more farmyard favourites. Myuna Farm presents an extremely child-friendly environment, with – in addition to all the animals – a playground, maze, pony and train rides all available to keep the little ones entertained.

You can also follow the farm's special 'Feed Trail', a path that leads you past all the paddock animals that you are allowed to feed!

Phillip Island Wildlife Park

Because you've picked up your car hire in the Melbourne airport, the fact that this magnificent wildlife park is located approximately two hours' drive away from the city won't make any difference. In fact, it just gives you more of an opportunity to gaze at more of Melbourne's splendour through your rental car window!

Over 100 different species live in Phillip Island Wildlife Park's impressive 60 acres of land. Kangaroos and wallabies roam free, and you'll be allowed to feed and pet them. This is also a fantastic environment in which to see some of Australia's exquisite bird species, such as the gigantic emu and cassowary.
