Petrol heads get your engines running! The Sydney V8 supercar 500 is coming up next month, and there is no better way to enjoy it than by jumping in your very own car hire near Sydney Airport and getting close to the action.

This is the first finale the city has ever held, so there will be plenty of that first-time excitement in the air. Rivals Ford and Holden are battling it out on the mean streets alongside Nissan and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG.

Twilight racing will also be a first-time feature of the race and visitors can head down to see it at the Sydney Olympic Park on day two of the event, Saturday December 7.

This is a precursor of what’s to come in the future of the sport, as next year’s V8 championship is set to feature even more twilight races.

It will begin at 5:10 p.m. so there will be enough sunlight even if conditions are overcast. Chief executive officer of the V8s James Warburton told Sydney Morning Herald reporter James Fogarty on September 24 the aim of the later races is to create more of a party atmosphere next to the track.

The Sydney circuit is a great place to trial the new timing as it is also the toughest street track in the country.

The event will run for three days until December 8, and if your children are joining you on your road trip in your car hire in Sydney, there will be plenty to keep them out of your hair so you can focus on the race.

The Disney-Pixar Fun Zone will feature life size replicas of favourites Mack the Transporter as well as Cars, Monsters, Toy Story and Finding Nemo.

Children under 12 will also receive free admission, so it could be a great way to kick off the summer holidays.
