If you are a fan of Daleks, Cybermen and the Doctor, you will be in for a treat in Brisbane. A show set to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the cult favourite will light up the stage on February 8.

Fans should organise their Brisbane city car hire ahead of time to avoid missing out on the Dr Who Symphonic Spectacular.

This show is a musical celebration of the iconic programme and will feature music from the show, composed by Murray Gold.

While the music can trace its origins back over the past five series, the eleventh doctor, Matt Smith, will also be a feature of this show, alongside the live aliens, Daleks, Cybermen and the Silence.

A big screen will be set up featuring sequences of Matt Smith’s work as the last doctor and there will be an interactive element with some of the show’s monsters spotted wandering up and down the aisles.

Dr Who had its 50th anniversary in 2013 and this show is travelling the world in celebration of this milestone.

The Queensland Symphony Orchestra will set the Brisbane Entertainment Centre alight with its brilliant performance of Murray Gold’s work.

The entertainment centre is located in Boondall, and having a rental car organised will make it easier to get around the city without getting lost.

It is best to allow plenty of time to reach the venue in case of traffic. The Symphony Orchestra recommend you get there half an hour before the show is due to commence (7.30 p.m) so you can find your seat and get a drink beforehand.

Once you arrive, make sure you remember to switch your cellphones off so you do not interrupt other theatregoers.
