Australia’s major cities are located many kilometers apart and much of the countries freight travels along the main highways and motorways that connect the country. This means that at all times of the day, large trucks and transport vehicles are on the road.
In some states, 2 or three trailers can be loaded behind one prime mover (referred to as a Road Train). Vehicles of such size can intimidate many drivers and cause impatience on hilly terrain when passing is difficult.
In all situations we recommend you give these vehicles the ‘wide birth’ that they command and wait until appropriate passing ;lanes are available before safely overtaking.
