It has been said that the best way to experience Launceston is to walk it. Home to Australia largest collection of 19th century buildings, it has a nice blend with modern architecture and the marina on the Tamar River, all which can be seen in a short stroll.
With a population that falls just short of 100,000, the laid back pace, Saturday footy games, winter fires and fabulous locally produced wines, make it a very nice place to visit or even to live.
The Tamar Valley area provides plenty to see and do, scattered with historical sites, recreational activities and dense rainforests.
