Fremantle lies at the mouth of the Swan River, just 20km downstream from Perth, the States Capital City. Although it really gained world wide attention during the Australian defense of the America's Cup in 1987, Fremantle has long played a role in the countries history.
The City has a current population of approximately 25,000 residents and a strong Italian influence, obvious in its restaurants, entertainment, arts and festivals. It also goes without saying that as it lies on the bountiful Indian Ocean, great water activities and fresh seafood's are also a big draw card for the region.
