With a population of approximately 1.1 million people, Adelaide, as South Australia's Capital City, is the 5th largest in Australia. Named after the consort of King William IV, Queen Adelaide, the town was planned and built close to the River Torrens and made up a series of grids that included large public squares and were surrounded by parklands.
